Potion Dog - May 2024 UPDATE
I finally got around to updating Potion Dog since its release as a game jam game! I updated a number of small things that I noticed needed some work after getting player feedback and being able to see footage of players trying the game for the first time and understanding how to play.
Most changes are quality-of-life updates, like watering can upgrades making it much less tedious to water your entire farm once you expand it and plant more crops frequently, as well as adding a confirmation page to expanding the farm so that you can't accidentally buy that while trying to interact with something else close by.
Other changes were to help new players understand how the game is played more intuitively. I wasn't able to add clear feedback to when the house is interacted with for the jam release, but there is now a clear indication that you've interacted with the house, which was confusing players before the change. I also changed the icons for crops in the hotbar, as they haven't been grown yet, so seed bags make more sense than a fully grown crop icon. This should help players understand the difference between a newly purchased crop and a fully grown crop that is ready to be brewed into a potion.
A full list of changes can be seen below, also in the description on the game page itself :)
Update changes and additions:
